Many of you requested the laws to assist you in completing tonight's homework. They will be embeded in the post below. Remember, for tonight you have a couple of two part questions:

From the laws you studied today, which do you think is best? Which do you think worst? Explain your answers.

Ask your parent/guardian which of our present day laws is best? Which one is worst? Explain why.

For those of you who were absent on Friday, your Mesopotamia brochures are due to me on tomorrow. If you were absent Thursday and Friday, your brochure is due on Wednesday.

Today in class you all conquered chapter 1. We wrapped up our section on prehistory and we now shift into The Birthplace of Civilization. In addition, you will define the section vocabulary: scribe, Fertile Crescent, city-state, polytheism, myth, fertile, terrace, and rival.
It has taken longer than I expected to grade the comic strips, but I will have those grades along with the quiz grades posted by Monday evening. I'll work as quickly as I can to get the test graded by mid-week.

UPDATE

I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend. I am still working on the illustrations and hope to have those graded by the end of the week. Quiz grades are up and with the exception of the illustrations all items in the grade book are up to date. I would also like to remind each of you how to properly head your paper. I will no longer be reminding you of how your paper should be headed.
Your name, date, period should be in the upper right corner of your paper. Your paper should also include a title or assignment name.

Vocabulary quiz

Students,

Our first vocabulary quiz will be on Wednesday 9/10. It will cover section 1, 2, and the high use vocabulary. There are 16 words altogether. I know you all will perform wonderfully on the quiz. Study, study, study!!!

Ms. Stewart

Take home test for students needing a "boost"

Students,

For those of you who have missing assignments and therefore a low average, I am offering a take home test. This opportunity is for students who have a 70 or below. It covers the material on the FL pages in the text that we worked with the first two weeks of school. I have copies available for you all tomorrow. The assignment is due on Friday 9/12 with NO exceptions. Leaving assignments in lockers, at home, in another class is not an excuse for being unprepared. You must have your NAME on all assignments. If there is no name on an assignment, then the assignment is not graded. I don't want you all to stress and fall behind making up work from two weeks ago. See you tomorrow!

Ms. Stewart

ATTENTION!!!

Progress reports were issued today. Many of you were pleasantly surprised, and some of you were simply shocked. The good news is that you can CHANGE your grade. The bad news is that you can CHANGE your grade. You must come to class prepared every day. This means having your homework with you, completed. For those students who have a 70% or below, I am offering an opportunity. It MUST be completed, NO EXCUSES, by Friday 9/12 in order to be counted.

Grades were severely affected by missing assignments. This is because we only have had a few assignments and some of them were worth a lot of points. There is plently of time to change your grade!! We have a quiz this week and in class assignments. Leaving your hw in your locker is unacceptable. Be prepared, be proactive!!
